Summary

Gibraltar having such a small population and land area it is evident that word of mouth is by far the preferred way for obtaining information and that explains why most of the people we asked said that they knew about the Ombudsman by word of mouth, i.e. been told by family members, friends, work colleagues, etc. Interesting to note that a high percentage of the public do not know where our office is and shows that more than half of the members of the public that took the questionnaire have probably never used our services. It is also worthy of mention that two thirds of the public know about the role of the Ombudsman. Our office will persevere in promoting awareness through the different means available, i.e. radio talk shows, newspaper articles, presentation talks to schools, college, etc and the internet i.e. the interaction with website users and social networks.
